This website, itself,  issues no cookies . It does not  request any information about website users and it retains no data. There is no advertising on the website  and there is no financial gain.

However, in order to have some feedback on usage and popularity, Google Analytics is reluctantly employed.  The appropriate box has been ‘ticked’ to exclude any personalisation of the data that they collect,  which normally does include cookies.    Please see adjacent panel.   

In addition, the maps in map-catalogues are embedded in the website by Ordnance Survey. They  tell me that ‘essential cookies’ are issued by them to distinguish users  by a random identifier and to apply a throttle to the request rate. 

Google Analytics is a web analysis service provided by Google. Google utilises the data collected to track and examine the use of this site, to prepare reports on its activities and share them with other Google services.
